Tourism exchanges between the two countries are low. This is due to the fact that Africa has so far not been popular tourist destination for Korean holiday-makers, a situation not helped by the prevailing ignorance about Africa, not to mention the negative images most Koreans have of the continent. The situation can be addressed through sustained multi-media promotional effort aimed at showing what countries like Ghana have to offer. One way of doing this is to forge meaningful links between the relevant institutions of the two countries to facilitate the exchange of films and documentaries.
It is however of good cheer to note that Ghana's qualification for the 2006 World Cup Soccer Competition, Ghana Under 20 soccer team defeat of the Korean promising team and ultimately winning the trophy in 2009, as well as Ghana's senior national team the black stars qualification for the 2010 World Cup to be hosted in South Africa in June this year (2010) has made more Koreans, even the less knowledgeable or educated come to know Ghana, as this is revealed from many unexpected quarters.
